Position Summary:

This role is integral to our team, focusing on conducting thorough financial, operational, and compliance audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls. You will engage with bank personnel to address audit inquiries and support adherence to regulatory standards. A comprehensive understanding of federal and state regulations is essential to assist in maintaining compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed audits to evaluate the adequacy of controls and processes in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Draft comprehensive internal audit reports that outline findings, analyses, and recommendations for improvements.
  • Independently manage assigned tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Pursue specialized training in audit risk assessment areas such as Depository Compliance, Lending Compliance, Financial, or IT/Electronic Banking.
  • Provide mentorship and training to team members on audit processes, including the completion of audit workpapers and general inquiries.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and others.
  • Address internal control and operational inquiries from bank staff.
  • Oversee and complete assigned projects, including audit schedules, in a timely manner.
  • Utilize sound judgment in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Represent the bank with integrity and professionalism.
  • Adhere to the bank's policies and core values, supporting management decisions positively.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related financial institution role.
  • Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Strong initiative and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Must be bondable.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database software is required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role is performed in a standard office environment, utilizing office equipment such as computers and phones. The noise level is typically moderate, and interaction with the public is frequent. Some travel may be necessary.
