Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist - Clinical Laboratory Specialist

Job Summary:

V R Della Infotech Inc is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist - Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing a full range of sample test analyses and laboratory services in a hospital-based laboratory setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all levels of testing, including CLIA defined high complexity testing, and laboratory services.
  • Evaluate, judge, and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies in patient results, working with MLTs and LSTs to troubleshoot problems.
  • Provide specialized expertise in microbiology, transfusion medicine, molecular biology, and infectious disease safety.
  • Perform patient specimen testing, ensuring sample suitability, and provide limited test utilization and interpretation information to medical staff and nursing.
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Manager to ensure quality measures are met, write policies and procedures, and prepare the laboratory for inspection from regulatory institutions.
  • Train new employees, MEH staff, and laboratory students, and participate in continuing education programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
  • Progressively responsible work-related experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
  • One (1) year of progressive clinical experience or one (1) year of hospital internship subsequent to degree.
  • Medical Technologist (ASCP) OR Clinical Laboratory Scientist (AMT) OR equivalent certification (as determined by a national credential certification agency).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of all levels of laboratory testing, including CLIA defined high complexity testing.
  • Knowledge of LIS operation and the ability to utilize a variety of laboratory and other software applications.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment use and operations.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of quality control.
  • Knowledge of CLIA, Joint Commission, CAP, and other regulatory requirements.

Working Conditions:

May be needed for day or night shift, with some on-call shifts also.
