Position Summary:

The Survey Office Technician II operates under the guidance of a Licensed Surveyor and/or other management personnel, focusing on the planning, processing, evaluation, quality assurance, documentation, reporting, and production of survey services and deliverables. This role requires a developing understanding of land surveying practices, data collection methods, and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with Land Surveyors, crew chiefs, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of survey projects.
  • Conduct research on historical survey data, maps, deeds, and other records to gather necessary information for surveys.
  • Occasionally visit sites to assess physical evidence.
  • Utilize personal computers and various surveying and drafting software proficiently.
  • Perform computations to establish property boundaries, physical locations, contour lines, and related documentation.
  • Develop a solid understanding of surveying principles and practices.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effectively operate all survey office and field equipment.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and documentation supporting project processes and progress.
  • Collaborate with engineering and architectural teams to align findings with project objectives.
  • Employ AutoCad/Carlson and other necessary software to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Apply standard techniques and procedures to perform tasks for conventional projects.
  • Assist in training new staff on fundamental tasks.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in surveying or a related field is required.
