Structural Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Trilon Group. As a key member of our transportation infrastructure design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing transportation-related structures, including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design transportation-related structures with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and timber elements
  • Assist senior design staff in structural design, drafting, and review
  • Collaborate with structures group, other disciplines, and clients to complete projects
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes
  • Develop engineers' cost estimates
  • Guide junior staff by providing direction and constructive feedback
Requirements:
  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering
  • Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
  • Experience designing transportation structures, including bridges, culverts, and walls
  • 5+ years of experience in structural design
  • Project and/or client management experience is preferred
Preferred Skills:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficiency with CADD software (preferably MicroStation or AutoCAD)
  • Proficiency with structural design software (i.e. Bentley LEAP Bridge, OpenBridge, MDX, MIDAS, etc)
  • DOT project experience is preferred
