About the Role

As a Preventative Maintenance Technician at Walters Recycling and Refuse, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of diesel and compressed natural gas (CNG) waste collection vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance on our fleet of vehicles and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspect and Diagnose: Inspect diesel and CNG powered trucks, as well as other equipment within our fleet, to identify potential issues and diagnose problems.
  • Operate Fleet Maintenance Software: Learn and operate our fleet maintenance software and diagnostic equipment to track maintenance activities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Meet Productivity Goals: Meet or exceed mechanic productivity goals as well as schedule compliance goals to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Complete Training Programs: Complete applicable company training programs to develop your skills and knowledge as a Preventative Maintenance Technician.
Required Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Currently enrolled in a diesel program, or 2 years of experience in an Automotive field.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Possess a strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn and operate complex equipment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in a physical environment with dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes.
