About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated College Support Services Coordinator to join our team at Delaware Technical & Community College. As a key member of our student support services, you will play a vital role in ensuring student success by providing exceptional support and guidance to students.

Job Summary

The College Support Services Coordinator will be responsible for delivering an outstanding student-centered experience, assisting and guiding students with various steps for application, enrollment, testing, advising, financial aid, and payment. You will collaborate with multiple departments across the College to support student enrollment and persistence, communicating with students and other customers to address their needs, questions, and concerns.

Main Responsibilities
  • Identify and resolve student questions, needs, and complaints, providing excellent customer service and focusing on putting students at the center.
  • Access, review, verify, and/or process student information, including admission applications, registration materials, course records, financial aid status, payment information, and other collateral documents.
  • Triage, route, and document all contacts, sharing student records in compliance with FERPA and other relevant regulations.
  • Compile data on student needs, concerns, and issues based on feedback, providing proactive outreach to ensure access to education and student progress to graduation.
  • Proactively respond to and resolve customer needs through written and verbal communication, responsible for proof-reading, accuracy, completeness, and adherence to College policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Assist students in preparing for enrollment, resolving student needs and questions, and providing general information about the College and its programs.
  • Participate in regular professional development to support a positive student-centered experience.
  • Strive for first call resolution and collaborate with supervisor and peers to identify trends affecting service to students and impact communication volume.
  • Continuously seek and revise knowledge based on new or updated information regarding College and department policies, procedures, activities, events, etc.
  • Supervise work study students or support staff as assigned.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent combination of experience and additional education.
  • Four years of relevant experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to research information and independently resolve complex inquiries.
