Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of products, materials, equipment, or processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. This role involves documenting findings, identifying any issues or non-conformities, and working with relevant teams to implement corrective actions. The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and safety of the company's operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Inspections: Perform detailed inspections of products, materials, equipment, or processes to verify conformity to established standards, specifications, and regulations.
  • Documentation: Accurately document inspection results, including any deviations or defects found, using appropriate forms, checklists, or software tools.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on inspection findings, outlining any issues, non-conformities, and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all inspections are carried out in accordance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality control, and engineering teams to resolve issues identified during inspections and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain inspection tools and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition.
  • Training: Assist in training other employees on inspection procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inspection processes and overall product quality.

Requirements

  • MUST be bilingual (English AND Spanish)
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, quality control) preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an inspection, quality control, or similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with inspection techniques, industry standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to the field.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of inspection software or databases.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), OSHA safety certification) are an advantage.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • May require lifting and carrying objects up to a certain weight (e.g., 50 pounds).
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, such as heat, cold, or exposure to chemicals, depending on the industry.
