CDL Truck Operator Role

A CDL Truck Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring safety and delivering exceptional customer service. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of construction materials and adherence to company protocols while managing product deliveries and yard activities.

The CDL Truck Operator reports directly to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport products to customer locations while complying with traffic laws and safety standards.
  • Assist in the unloading of products at delivery sites, utilizing manual labor or equipment as necessary.
  • Deliver courteous customer service, adhere to delivery timelines, and manage the return of loads effectively.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation for deliveries and returns.
  • Support loading and organizing building materials, and provide assistance to customers when not on the road.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and conduct routine safety inspections.
  • Contribute to yard and warehouse operations as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Driver License and DOT Medical Certification:

  • Must hold a valid CDL License.
  • Required to possess or obtain DOT Medical Certification.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.

Additional Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule is required.
  • Must successfully complete company training programs.

Physical Demands:

  • Position requires sitting, standing, bending, and walking.
  • Ability to lift and transport heavy items is necessary.
  • Work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings in varying weather conditions.
