Position Overview:
The County of Los Angeles is seeking a dedicated professional to assist in the coordination and promotion of marketing initiatives within the department. This role involves supporting the planning, solicitation, negotiation, and execution of marketing strategies tailored to enhance departmental programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans for various departmental services, ensuring adherence to established branding and communication guidelines.
- Act as a liaison for marketing and communications, collaborating with departmental divisions to effectively promote services and programs.
- Work alongside departmental staff to create targeted marketing strategies that resonate with diverse audiences, including children, teens, adults, and families.
- Engage in negotiations with potential marketing sponsors regarding sponsorships, donations, and licensing agreements.
- Prepare marketing data to support negotiations and program implementations.
- Design and produce promotional materials to effectively communicate departmental offerings and initiatives.
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing programs, ensuring compliance with county standards.
- Evaluate new marketing initiatives to assess their suitability for the department and provide recommendations.
- Draft reports and recommendations for supervisory review and prepare applications for awards, grants, and loans.
- Monitor ongoing marketing programs to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
- Manage and oversee projects assigned to external vendors, providing clear guidelines and timelines to ensure successful completion.
Qualifications:
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- One year of experience in a public agency assisting with the negotiation and implementation of marketing programs.
- Two years of experience in private sector marketing, focusing on negotiation and project implementation.
Education:
A master's degree in Marketing from an accredited institution may substitute for six months of required experience.
Licensure:
A valid California Class C Driver License is required or the ability to utilize alternative transportation methods to fulfill job responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves light physical activity, including occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds and some bending or stooping.
