POSITION OBJECTIVE

The main objective of this role is to support the development and implementation of social, recreational, and educational activities for residents, ensuring alignment with Birchaven Village's policies, ethical standards, and resident rights, while adhering to the employee handbook and following guidance from the Unit Manager.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred completion of high school education or equivalent; experience in a long-term care environment is advantageous.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Effective communication skills to engage residents and motivate participation in various activity programs.
  • Ability to interpret and execute straightforward written or verbal instructions with common sense.
  • Capability to address issues involving a limited number of concrete variables in standardized settings.
  • Flexibility to manage a range of evolving projects tailored to the diverse needs of residents.
  • Creative and imaginative mindset, coupled with a genuine passion for working with elderly and vulnerable individuals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
