Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at Five Star Painting. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and guiding residential and light commercial painting jobs through the scheduling and execution stages. You will serve as the focal point for communication among the various involved parties, ensuring that our customers' needs and expectations are clearly communicated and accurately documented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure assigned projects are kept on schedule and within budget while meeting clients' needs and delivering a quality project
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate painting projects from estimated to completed
  • Generate schedules and plans of operation for painting projects in close consultation with homeowners, architects, contractors, remodelers, renovators, and other stakeholders
  • Schedule and award subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders as needed
  • Manage painting subcontractor crews and maintain proper ratios of crews to estimators to ensure a smooth workflow
  • Identify potential issues and ensure timely decisions are made
  • Coordinate other trades such as drywall repair, carpentry, plaster, and stucco repair
  • Lead safety meetings and document as necessary
  • Ensure proper document control and record keeping
  • Ensure accuracy in estimates and job costing and facilitate weekly owner payroll reports
  • Communicate the scheduling preferences and needs of the customer to the Owner by making notes in CORE and/or scheduling the job through the Company Calendar
  • Guide projects to completion to ensure proper close-out
Qualifications
  • Ability to manage, hire, and coordinate subcontractors
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, subcontractors, and clients
  • Ability to learn and work independently in a fast-paced environment, with a self-motivated and energetic attitude
  • Superb time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and reliable
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and software programs such as MS Excel, MS Word, Google Mail/Calendar/Drive
  • Minimum of 2 years (5 years preferred) of successful project management experience, with a demonstrated work history of safely executing projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards
  • Budget control and job cost forecasting experience and skills
  • Experience in residential repainting, with additional experience in other project types such as medical office buildings, schools, offices, public sector, and related facilities a plus but not required
  • Experience in preparing conceptual estimates, project estimates, and assisting in the preparation of proposals
  • Diverse expertise with a variety of building types, with prior experience in residential and light commercial construction a plus

  5. Operate a variety of software programs, as listed above

  7. Present the values and ideals of Five Star Painting in appearance and action, maintaining a proper appearance when interacting with customers or representing the company
  8. Energetic self-starter with the ability to multitask, possessing a get-it-done attitude
  9. Perform other duties as required to ensure the success of Five Star Painting, including assignments in other job classifications

Compensation: $65,000.00 per year
