Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in solar PV project management and team leadership
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical power systems and photovoltaic design, including plant layout and performance modeling, modules, inverters, racking, and DC/AC collection systems
  • Expertise in optimizing solar projects for performance, cost efficiency, and constructability
  • Willingness to travel to project/client sites as necessary, approximately 5-10%

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with one of the fastest-growing private firms in the United States
  • Report directly to the Director of Commercial Construction
  • Oversee large-scale distributed generation solar PV projects
  • Engage in innovative and proactive project management during the construction phase
  • Lead a team of engineers in providing project support and engineering design oversight
  • Collaborate with electric utilities to prepare and manage interconnection documentation; provide technical support throughout the interconnection process
  • Evaluate technical drawings and specifications of PV systems to ensure compliance with standards and client requirements
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain and review bids for essential equipment such as PV system racking, transformers, and MV switchgear
  • Review and provide feedback on critical deliverables, including complete system designs, single line diagrams, equipment specifications, engineering validation, 3-D renderings, interconnection policies, electric tariff analysis, and energy production estimates
  • Conduct detailed energy production modeling calculations, string sizing, PV array to inverter matching, voltage drop assessments, and analysis of orientation and inter-row spacing
