The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive grasp of accounting principles under U.S. GAAP, a strong background in technical accounting, and relevant experience in the Consumer Product Goods (CPG) sector.
Key Qualifications:
- Profound knowledge of accounting under U.S. GAAP and Internal Controls
- Proficiency in technical accounting with a background in the Consumer Product Goods (CPG) industry
- Demonstrated success in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of financial reports, with previous involvement in business performance assessments and financial closing processes, as well as experience with shared service centers
- Excellent interpersonal abilities, capable of delivering constructive feedback and driving transformation
- Experience in the implementation of new accounting standards and adherence to Finance Manual protocols
- Leadership capabilities in mentoring and guiding accounting and reporting teams
Primary Responsibilities:
Technical Accounting Expertise:
Provide guidance on technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and organizational policies. Oversee the evaluation and determination of suitable accounting treatments for new contracts, leases, and business arrangements, and conduct initial reviews of technical accounting inquiries.
Financial Closing Activities:
Guarantee the timely and accurate delivery of period-end financials and submissions, supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
Internal Controls and Process Optimization:
Establish and uphold robust internal controls. Offer insights to enhance financial processes, promoting efficiency and effectiveness.
Audit Collaboration:
Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to ensure a smooth and effective audit process.
Education & Professional Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Required)
- Advanced degree (Preferred)
- CPA or equivalent professional certification (Required)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a corporate environment and/or public accounting firm.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Accounting under U.S. GAAP
- Experience in the Consumer Product Goods industry (Required)
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems (Preferred)
- Experience in team leadership, talent development, and succession planning
- Expertise in technical accounting, financial processes, and internal controls
- Experience in managing complexity within the CPG industry
