We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to enhance our team in a permanent role. This position is pivotal in ensuring optimal plant performance and reliability through effective maintenance support and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide essential support to maintenance operations to boost plant performance and reliability.
- Spearhead continuous improvement projects within the engineering department.
- Contribute Electrical & Controls Engineering expertise to the Project Engineering team.
- Assist in project, process, and maintenance activities aimed at enhancing safety and production efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement projects from initial concept through to successful execution.
- Transform concepts into comprehensive control specifications applicable to a wide range of manufacturing equipment.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to electrical, instrumentation, and controls.
- Offer support during site breakdowns to ensure prompt restoration of production.
- Participate in the technical support call-out rota to ensure site safety and minimize downtime.

Qualifications:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is essential.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Controls Engineer, particularly in instrumentation and controls.
- Background in engineering within a manufacturing or process environment.
- Familiarity with the design and specification of industrial chemical processes or similar systems.
- Proficient in Rockwell PLC systems (Logix 5000 & 500, including RS view) and Safety PLC systems with SIL knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills, particularly with 4-20mA loops and process-critical equipment.
- Experience with industry-standard risk assessment methodologies such as HAZOP and FMEA, with training in machine safety.
- Additional experience in ATEX and commissioning, as well as knowledge of 2D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPlan), is advantageous.
