Opportunity: Budget Financial Manager
The Capital Area Division (CAD) of ARA is seeking a skilled Budget Financial Manager to support the Office of the Secretary of Defense in Washington, D.C. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical national security initiatives by providing financial expertise and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Lead analyses of programs and projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and budgetary constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive finance materials and budgets, collaborating with program managers and stakeholders to develop accurate financial projections.
- Manage funding actions and financial data reporting, maintaining meticulous records and adhering to DoD financial regulations.
- Monitor program budget execution closely, identifying variances and implementing corrective measures to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial data, identifying discrepancies and recommending solutions to mitigate risks.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and concise financial reports and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field is required. A Master's degree or higher is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years specifically within the DoD environment.
- Active DoD TOP SECRET clearance is essential for this role.
- Proven experience in budgeting for research and development (R&E) initiatives is highly valued.
- Strong proficiency in DoD financial systems and Microsoft Excel is required.
Desired Qualifications:
- DoD Financial Management Certification demonstrates advanced knowledge and expertise.
- Experience presenting budgeting data to senior DoD leadership enhances communication skills.
- Familiarity with program planning and review documentation streamlines the financial analysis process.
