We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings. This role is essential for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment.
Certification Requirements- Preferred certifications include: Cardiovascular surgical and Neurovascular surgical.
- Work within an ICU unit comprising 28 beds, supported by a team of over 70 staff members, all consisting of registered nurses, along with a charge nurse and unit secretary.
- Utilize advanced medical equipment such as hypothermia devices, CRRT, ventilators, and infusion pumps.
- Operate within the Meditech electronic medical record system.
- Maintain patient ratios of 2-3 patients per nurse.
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience in an acute care setting.
- Experience with cardiovascular recovery, particularly with patients post-open heart surgery and post-CABG.
- Competency in EKG interpretation.
- Day shifts include a dedicated charge nurse, 14 RNs, and a unit secretary.
- Night shifts mirror day shift staffing levels.
- Shifts commence at 6:45 AM/6:45 PM with a mandatory 30-minute lunch break.
- Bedside reporting is a requirement for all shifts.
- Common procedures include: CT insertions, intubations, and central line insertions.
- Unit policies and guidelines are available for review.
- Dress code includes royal blue scrubs, with restrictions on artificial nails and visible tattoos; hoodies are not permitted, and undershirts must be white or royal blue.
- Acknowledged for excellence with awards in the Gulf Coast division for ventilator days.
- Recognized for outstanding performance in CAUTI and CLABSI prevention initiatives.
