Ophthalmic Technician

Grand Strand Retina and Eye Physicians is a leading provider of ophthalmology services in the Grand Strand area. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant Technician Scribe to join our team.

The Ophthalmic Assistant Technician Scribe will play a critical role in the care of our patients by gathering medical information, performing visual screenings, and assisting with diagnostic procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to join a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

• Gather and document patient medical information, including past medical history, family medical history, and medication history.
• Perform visual screenings, including visual acuity testing and eye exams.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures, such as tonometry and corneal pachymetry.
• Neutralize eye glasses and perform other related tasks as needed.
• Responsible for the care and maintenance of assigned rooms and equipment.
• Attend required staff and educational meetings as requested.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to OSHA and handwashing protocols.

• Completion of AAO Home Study Course.
• 2 Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or ` Certified Medical Technologist (COMT).
• Current CPR certification.

Non-certified ophthalmic medical personnel with at least 1 year experience as an ophthalmic technician may be considered.
