About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Engineer to join our team at Walker Elliott. As a key member of our technical support group, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support to our customers and internal stakeholders regarding the application of our genset products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal Technical Sales Support group concerning application inquiries.
  • Test products within their applications.
  • Engage directly with customers, both remotely and on-site, to address detailed application-related questions.
  • Create training materials for both internal and external audiences.
  • Provide marketing insights to the Product Line Manager based on interactions with Sales and Customers.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Communications group to draft marketing materials.
  • Participate in industry conferences and societies.
  • Conduct webinars and customer training seminars.
  • Attend internal Basler training and coordination events.
  • Support sales efforts to ensure customer acceptance of Basler products by responding to application and product-related inquiries before sales, offering training on product and application basics to sales teams and target customers, communicating detailed technical information to the proposal team or Product Line Manager for quoting large or complex opportunities, potentially involving site visits, addressing application-related questions as they arise, and performing additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), relevant professional experience, or technical experience.
  • Experience in power systems and/or generators.
  • Familiarity with power system simulation and coordination software.
  • Interest in emerging aspects of power systems, such as DC power, Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), Inverter-Based Resources (IBRs), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and microgrids.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%.
