Job Title: Senior Safety Officer

The Old Dominion Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Officer to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for our employees, contractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement OHS policies and programs to ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures to minimize workplace hazards.
  • Review and update existing policies and procedures to ensure they are current and effective.
  • Organize and deliver OHS training to employees and contractors.
  • Inspect premises and work activities to identify potential hazards and non-conformities.
  • Investigate incidents and prepare reports to determine causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of health and safety in the workplace.
Requirements:
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • OSHA 30 and 500 certification.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a drug/alcohol screen and background check.
  • At least three years of safety experience.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and manage time and priorities effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels, supervisors, vendors, and other stakeholders in a positive, constructive manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree.
  • OSHA 510 certification.
  • Industry certification, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST).
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to walk, sit, stand, bend, kneel, stretch, squat, and climb.
  • Able to frequently travel to job sites and meetings.
  • Able to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Able to work with specialized safety equipment.
  • Able to see, talk, and hear in person, via phone, and online/video.
  • Able to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to pass Respirator fit test.
  • Able to work in an outdoor and indoor construction work environment with potential exposure to dust, noise, waste, toxic and infectious materials, and possible inclement weather conditions.
