Advanced Lung Disease Nurse Practitioner

The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join its team in the Department of Pulmonology and Lung Transplant. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care to individuals with complex respiratory conditions, including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, bronchiectasis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary hypertension.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with complex respiratory conditions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, surgeons, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Conduct thorough assessments, including physical examinations, diagnostic testing, and laboratory results, to inform treatment decisions.
- Prescribe medications and therapies as needed, in accordance with UCSF policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in pulmonary medicine and lung transplant, and apply this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
- Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC).
- Minimum of two (2) years of critical care nursing experience or 3 to 6 months as a UCSF APP in pulmonary/transplant/MCS/critical care.
- Flexibility to work at all UCSF Health locations and in varying schedules as outlined.
- California driver's license (CDL) if required for position.
- Current and active RN and NP license in California.
- Complete a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner.
- Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice.
- Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day.
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
