The Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Sleep Medicine, and the Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI) are seeking a Director for the UCSF Airway Clinical Research Center (ACRC) for a full-time faculty position.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct a mechanism-oriented clinical research unit focused on clinical studies and clinical trials in patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Lead a team of faculty, trainees, and clinical coordinators who focus their research on airway diseases and collaborate to meet shared challenges in recruitment, study execution, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide leadership for the center and use the center's resources for an independent research program in airway diseases.
- A history of independent research funding in obstructive lung diseases.
- A history of significant contributions to research in obstructive lung disease, as evidenced by a record of high-impact publications.
- Experience in recruiting and conducting clinical trials or observational human studies.
- Ability to obtain a license to practice medicine in the State of California.
- Board certified/board eligible in Pulmonary Medicine or Allergy/Immunology.
- Expertise in translational research.
- Opportunity to lead the ACRC, an established 3,500 square foot center of excellence and innovation in airway disease research.
