Overview

Position Summary: This role is situated within the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Individuals in DCIPS roles are part of the Excepted Service and must comply with U.S. Code, Title 10, along with Department of Defense Instruction. This position is affiliated with the United States Army Criminal Investigation Division, focusing on operations and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the Security Officer and Special Security Officer (SSO), overseeing a comprehensive array of intelligence-related multi-discipline security initiatives.
  • Administer the Personnel Security Program (PSP) in alignment with applicable regulations.
  • Oversee various Personnel Security systems, ensuring compliance and functionality.
  • Serve as SSO, managing Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) programs.
  • Direct the Information Security (INFOSEC) program, advising staff on the management of classified materials, including proper markings, safeguarding, and declassification processes.
Requirements:

Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a thorough background investigation.
  • Successful completion of a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use is required prior to appointment.
  • Willingness to undertake Temporary Duty (TDY) travel as necessary.
  • This position is part of the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination following a background investigation.
  • A two-year trial/probationary period may be necessary.
