Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to join our team at First Choice Health Centers. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the nursing staff, ensuring that patient care is delivered effectively and meets established quality standards. You will work closely with our Director of Clinical Services to develop, implement, and evaluate continuing education programs, as well as support competency assessment processes for nursing and clinical support staff.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of ambulatory care experience, including 3 years of supervisory experience. They will be bi-lingual in Spanish, preferably, and hold a current RN license (BSN or MSN preferred). The successful candidate will be able to provide primary clinical operation oversight, including scheduling, and patient care; and supervision of staff consistent with department goals, personnel policies, and individual job descriptions.

  • Assists with planning, implementation, and evaluation of continuing education programs.
  • Assists the Director of Clinical Services with developing, monitoring, and evaluating employee performance reviews.
  • Works collaboratively in the hiring process of new nursing staff and makes recommendations for employment.
  • Supports competency assessment process with nursing and clinical support staff, including completing orientation of new staff members as required.
  • Manages and executes the medical orientation process to all new hires who will be working in a clinical workspace.
  • Serves as a clinical leader in various projects and forums.
  • Ensures integration of nursing services with other patient care services in the facility and ensures nursing staff patterns are implemented.
  • Works collaboratively with the Practice Administrator team to maintain good patient/provider relations, including handling patient complaints.
  • Responsible for managing employee health process, including coordinating and tracking pre-hire occupational health requirements and annual employee health requirements such as the influenza vaccine.
  • Ensures smooth and efficient processing of patients in the department; ensures established quality assurance, Joint Commission, UDS standards and infection control activities are performed according to policy.
  • Attends mandatory supervisory nursing meetings and occasional weekend trainings as required.
  • Supports The Director of Clinical Services with conducting Infection Control rounds and Construction Rounds as needed.
  • Assists the Director of Clinical Services with triage and management of employees with COVID symptoms per current CDC Guidelines.
  • Supports the Vaccines for Children Program (CTWIZ) program overseen and run by the Director of Clinical Services, supporting nursing staff with education and trainings of program to ensure adherence and fidelity of the CT DPH Immunization Program.
  • Ensures safety of vaccine inventory during inclement weather, refrigerator/freezer issues, and building challenges.
  • Provides nursing care services as needed, including but not limited to administering medications, assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation of patient care. Documentation of patient responses to treatment and care provided in the medical record, per First Choice CHC guidelines.

About the Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $95,000-$115,000 annually, based on several factors including work experience, certifications, and other qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 20 days of vacation, 8 paid holidays, and 2 floating holidays per year. We also provide a retirement savings program, including a safe harbor 401(k) with up to a 4% company match after 6 months of employment, as well as company-paid reimbursement for annual RN license renewal and life insurance.
