Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Description

About the Role

BrightView Landscapes is seeking a highly skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely payment from our clients and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure timely payment
  • Process and manage accounts receivable, including contract setup, budgeting, and monthly billings
  • Prepare and send statements to outstanding customers
  • Collect and apply payments, and maintain accurate aging reports
  • Identify and execute necessary invoice adjustments
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve outstanding issues
  • Support internal and external audits, and corporate tax team
  • Ensure all accounts receivable billings are processed in accordance with documented SOX controls
  • Prepare timely month-end closing activities

Requirements

  • Strong data entry and reconciliation capabilities
  • Understanding of debits and credits
  • Ability to work in multiple systems
  • Strong customer service and time management skills
  • Proven working experience in an Accounts Receivable role
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations
  • Data entry skills and a knack for numbers
  • Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (JDE)
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing Accounts Receivable
  • JDE or Oracle experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook email)
