Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in personal injury and medical malpractice law, with a proven track record of providing superior paralegal support in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation, including discovery, court filings, and trial preparation.
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Coordinate and manage the in-house filing system to ensure documents are easily accessible and well-organized.
  • Handle billing related tasks, including preparing invoices and tracking payments.
  • Draft letters and other correspondence for attorneys.
  • Request and manage medical bills and medical records in personal injury and medical malpractice cases.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to assist attorneys in case preparation.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in the personal injury practice area.
  • Proven experience in drafting legal documents and correspondence.
  • Familiarity with billing procedures and practices in the legal industry.
  • Practical experience with managing an in-house filing system.
  • Knowledge of how to request and manage medical bills and medical records in personal injury and medical malpractice cases.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of legal research tools and software.
