We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our legal team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive litigation support from case management to trial and post-trial proceedings.
Responsibilities- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases, from onset through post-trial.
- Conduct legal research, gather and organize evidence and legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents, and file them with the court.
- Prepare for trial by organizing exhibits, assisting with witness preparation, and attending trials.
- Manage and organize large volumes of complex case-related documents, often in electronic format, and coordinate document productions.
- Manage electronic filing systems to ensure information is easily accessible for legal staff.
- Prepare medical chronologies and summaries.
- Coordinate the discovery process, conduct document reviews, and ensure all relevant documents are accounted for.
- Utilize legal management software, preferably Clio, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- Paralegal Certification is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in litigation, with a strong knowledge of pretrial and post-trial litigation processes.
- Demonstrated experience drafting pleadings and preparing legal documents.
- Proficiency in electronic filing systems.
- Experience with trial preparation and legal document preparation.
- Civil insurance defense experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in the medical sector, particularly in preparing medical chronologies, is a plus.
- Familiarity with legal management software, preferably Clio, is advantageous.
- Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 per year, as well as a range of benefits, including 401(k), dental insurance, employee assistance program, health insurance, health savings account, life insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance.
