Cardiovascular Technologist Job Description

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team in Bronx, New York.

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of a physician, the Cardiovascular Technologist will prepare patients, assemble and operate hemodynamic and electrophysiologic equipment during interventional and diagnostic procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including explaining the process and obtaining informed consent.
  • Assemble and operate hemodynamic and electrophysiologic equipment, including monitoring vital signs, EKG, and pressure recordings.
  • Analyze intercardiac electrogram and report results.
  • Perform direct and indirect patient care, including maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Document patient information and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in biological science or a clinical health-related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of cardiovascular experience required.
  • Ability to perform hemodynamic/electrophysiologic monitoring and calculation preferred.
  • RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) and/or RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) and/or IBHRE (International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners) certification preferred.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
