Healthcare Professional for Correctional Facility

Amergis is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to work in an ICE detention center. The Correctional RN collaborates with healthcare professionals, correctional officers, and administrators to ensure the well-being of the incarcerated population.
The Correctional RN addresses the specific challenges and limitations of the correctional environment while providing care to their patient population. This care includes routine and emergency health care in a correctional facility setting.
Shifts:
This position requires availability to work day, evening, and night shifts, as well as weekends and holidays. Both full-time and PRN/Per Diem opportunities are available.
Required Education and Experience:
- Graduation from an associate, baccalaureate, or graduate nursing program for Registered Nurses located in a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Minimum one year of professional experience as a licensed registered nurse in a hospital, medical office, or residential setting.
- Experience in a detention/correctional healthcare setting is preferred.
- Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
- Must be capable of passing a federal background check.
Required License and Certification:
- Current, full, and unrestricted license as Registered Nurse in the state or a compact state that allows practice in the state in which the duty station is located.
- Maintains BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association.
- Certified Correctional Health Professional, Certified Correctional Health Professional – Registered Nurse, or Certified Corrections Nurse credential is preferred.
