Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Director to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our laboratory services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the management of laboratory staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as CLIA and CAP
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Medical Director and System Director of Laboratory Services to develop and implement strategic plans for laboratory services
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results, including proficiency testing and quality control
  • Develop and manage budgets for laboratory operations, including capital and operating expenses
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of laboratory services with other hospital functions
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care and laboratory operations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical laboratory experience in moderate/high complexity testing
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Must possess Certification for MLS, MLT, MT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a varied work schedule. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
