Emergency Room Nurse

The Registered Nurse Emergency Room coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients.
- Meet the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department (ED) and manage all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
- Participate in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.
- Routinely provide triage assessment for patients presenting for treatment.
- Routinely perform venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab tests.
- Routinely provide intervention in emergency, life-threatening situations.
- Assume the responsibility of charging the department, as needed.
- Current Texas Licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BLCLS) and Certification.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 6 months of hire.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course (PALS) and Certification within 6 months of hire.
- One year experience in Emergency Services (ED) (ER) (FSED).
