Registered Nurses (RNs) play a crucial role in promoting health and preventing illness. They provide professional nursing care to patients who are acutely ill, recovering, or chronically ill, as directed by the medical staff. Many RNs in this role focus on the comprehensive care of patients, administering medications under the supervision of physicians and maintaining accurate records of symptoms and progress. They also oversee licensed practical nurses (LPNs), nursing assistants (CNAs), and nursing students.
Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties:
- Assess patients and perform nursing responsibilities tailored to the specific needs of patients based on their age and diagnosis.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, charge nurses, and team members regarding any changes in patients' clinical conditions, including diagnostic results and symptoms.
- Respond promptly and accurately to any changes in patient conditions or treatment responses.
- Carry out general nursing duties across various departments with appropriate supervision.
- Adhere to the Five Medication Rights to minimize medication errors.
- Develop a patient education plan based on identified learning needs and assess the effectiveness of the education provided, involving family or caregivers as necessary.
- Engage with patients, families, colleagues, and providers with respect, dignity, and empathy.
- Recognize and address the psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan and provide age-appropriate care.
- Document patient care in accordance with established standards and policies.
- Participate in the orientation of new personnel and available in-service training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Rapid Response Crisis
ShiftsNight Shift: 7:00 pm - 7:30 am; 12-hour shifts. Rotating days. No call required.
Licensing RequirementsMust hold an active state license.
Experience RequirementsMinimum of 2 years of experience required.
Contract DetailsMinimum guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week. Contract length: 13 weeks.
CertificationsGeneral Certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS.
