We are seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team at Lyon Shipyard, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating cranes, performing maintenance tasks, and ensuring a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate cranes, including electric, hydraulic, and manual powered cranes, in a seated position
- Perform maintenance tasks on cranes and lifts, including lubrication and housekeeping
- Assist with maintenance of cranes and lifts daily
- Understand crane safety limits, devices, and locations to ensure safe operation
- Communicate effectively with co-workers in all departments
- High school degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of crane operation procedures and equipment
- Use of Hydraulic mobile crane experience required
- Conventional Crawler experience a plus
- Ability to calculate load weights according to crane manufacturer's guidelines
- Certified on at least 1 portable crane to include: G8, G7, G3, wing wall crane, diesel electric, diesel hydro, all electric
- Third class mechanics must be certified before operating crane
- Re-certifications required after three years on the portal crane and 5 years on the mobile crane
The work environment is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme heat, near moving mechanical parts, and includes occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and to vibration.
