We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at Stantec Buildings, a professional services firm that takes an innovative and collaborative approach to projects.

We believe sustainable design for the built environment can make the world a better place for future generations. As a Mechanical Designer, you will work independently in the design of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for assigned projects through all phases of the project lifecycle.

Your Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for a Mechanical Designer to build upon successes and experiences gained thus far in their career. A successful candidate for this position uses their working knowledge and collaborative skills to enhance, lead, and grow into an integral part of the success of the team around them.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed designs of mechanical engineered systems or products for projects using various tools and software.
  • Participate in client meetings on projects to establish design criteria, review design progress, and support through construction administration.
  • Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer all mechanical engineered systems or products for a project.
  • Create three-dimensional models of building's mechanical systems using BIM technologies.
  • Prepare and revise documentation in various mechanical phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
  • Collaborate with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner, general contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in designing Mechanical/HVAC systems.
  • EIT working toward licensure required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus.
Compensation$88,300 - $128,000

The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
