Role Overview

The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the site manager with the overall management of the adventure course. This position focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences, providing staff support, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service by creating a welcoming environment for guests, which includes greeting and checking them in, maintaining high standards, and possessing comprehensive knowledge of the adventure course.
  • Ensure all team members are familiar with and comply with risk assessment and operational procedures.
  • Monitor activity sessions and staff deployment to meet guest needs while upholding health and safety standards.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of site staff, ensuring effective communication.
  • Support the site manager in overseeing the functionality of the course through regular inspections and maintaining necessary documentation.
  • Contribute to financial management tasks and assist in merchandise sales.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the site, including cabins and the adventure course.
  • Promote brand awareness through marketing initiatives, participation in off-site events, and conducting local market research.
  • Assist with inventory management of operational equipment and merchandise.
  • Collaborate with the site manager to develop an on-call schedule for necessary communications.
  • Foster positive relationships with park partners.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Go Ape, embodying the mission and values of the organization.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

Preferred:

  • Experience in high ropes or zip line operations is advantageous.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old (19 for specific locations).
  • Ability to meet guest participation requirements.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Capability to successfully complete rescue training.
