Job Title: Assistant/Associate Engineer

Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant/Associate Engineer to join our Engineering Department - Design Division. This is a permanent, full-time position located at our Administrative Office in Concord, CA.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented engineer with a strong background in water resources management and a passion for delivering high-quality projects. As an Assistant/Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing projects and initiatives from CCWD's capital improvement program, which may include treated water distribution pipeline replacements, improvements to treated and untreated water systems, and water treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement projects and initiatives from CCWD's capital improvement program
  • Assess and manage risks to project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Perform project management duties, including identifying critical path elements and priority tasks
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Administer consultant contracts and coordinate consultant work with project stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in engineering or a related field
  • Two (2) years of professional engineering experience
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license
  • Assistant Engineer: Possession of a valid certificate as an Engineer-in-Training issued by the State of California
  • Associate Engineer: Possession of a valid license as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of California
