Respiratory Therapist RRT

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care in accordance with the department's specific requirements and the relevant state and specialty standards. As a key member of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, and ensures the delivery of oxygen therapy and aerosol medication.
Responsibilities- Conduct patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure, and document findings.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with the placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers and intervene as necessary in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with the transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification.
- Associate Degree.
