We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Educator to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center Shared Services. As a Clinical Educator, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of educational programs for nursing staff in Perioperative Services.
Key Responsibilities- Support the educational needs of assigned units/clinics, including classroom, clinical experiences, and learning technologies.
- Implement comprehensive education programs to meet the orientation and ongoing competency needs of nursing staff, with a focus on Perioperative Services.
- Ensure all program/course revisions meet Department of Nursing and regulatory expectations and standards.
- Provide consultation to enhance continuing education, professional development opportunities, and mentorship opportunities.
- Deliver/coordinate educational programs, such as Grand Rounds, in-services, continuing education, job-specific, and specialty curricula, to support competence and professional growth of Tenet nursing staff.
- Provide leadership to preceptors and serve as a role model through educational programs and ongoing coaching and mentoring.
- Participate in continuing education provider unit learning, evaluate nursing education activities, and participate in activities to keep abreast of changes to market/facility policies/procedures.
- Assist in the development of clinical policies and procedures as requested.
- Provide guidance, resources, and knowledge for professional growth of others.
- Mentor colleagues, other nurses, students, and others as appropriate.
- Participate in quality performance improvement activities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education or related specialty.
- 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Current State Licenses & Certifications.
- Skills in navigating and communicating in a complex environment, fostering achievement of Nursing Education/Development goals and objectives, and interacting with staff in an ethical, consistent, fair, timely, appropriate, and decisive manner.
