Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at Daifuku Airport America Corporation. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical portion of assigned projects, managing resources, schedules, budgets, and deliverables. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of mechanical engineers and ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Plan and conduct engineering projects, including designing and developing mechanical systems.
  • Act as a liaison between departments, divisions, companies, and customers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Work to achieve overall objectives at a minimum cost, while maintaining high-quality results.
  • Estimate the number of employees needed and schedule work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Document changes to the scope of work and ensure that contract documents and specifications are followed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in lead design and estimating in one or more of the following fields: robotics, automation, unit handling, chain conveyor systems, electrified monorails, design or castings & forgings & manufacturing fabrication processes or Airport Baggage Handling Systems.
  • Strong communication skills for customer and supplier contact.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience handling multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of and experience using CAE equipment.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work in an office environment, as well as on-site at industrial conveyor systems. The successful candidate will be able to maneuver through the system, climb access ladders, and lift and/or carry objects up to 40 lbs.
