Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach students effectively in assigned classes and maintain office hours for student consultation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach students in assigned classes, utilizing innovative strategies to enhance learning.
  • Maintain accurate and complete course records, ensuring student success.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the instructional process, contributing to the improvement of learning outcomes.
  • Develop and support their discipline by recommending books and materials, revising curricula, and recommending teaching assignments when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals and visions, valuing the collaborative process.
  • Utilize technology to facilitate learning, access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others.
  • Meet professional assignments in accordance with the System's calendar and contractual obligations.
  • Comply with Dallas College board policies, state and federal policy, and the student code of conduct as appropriate.
  • Commit to college mission and goals through participating in planning division objectives and budget requests.
  • Participate in campus commencement exercises as required and attend other required college meetings and activities.
  • Participate in his/her own performance appraisal.
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively with persons from diverse backgrounds.
  • May work with student clubs and/or organizations.
  • Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills to support and enhance effective interaction between Dallas College and other organizations, businesses, and community groups as well as faculty, staff, and students.
  • Promote the college in the community by participating in a variety of marketing activities.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Complete required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
