We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach students effectively in assigned classes and maintain office hours for student consultation.
Key Responsibilities- Teach students in assigned classes and maintain office hours for student consultation.
- Provide students with a written course syllabus and participate in the evaluation of the instructional process.
- Participate in the development and support of their discipline by recommending books and materials, revising curricula, and recommending teaching assignments when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and complete course records and perform professional activities as agreed upon with the division dean.
- Participate in student advising and registration, utilize technology to facilitate learning, and meet professional assignments in accordance with the System's calendar and contractual obligations.
- Comply with Districts board policy, state and federal policy, and the student code of conduct as appropriate.
- Commit to college mission and goals through participating in planning division objectives and budget requests.
- Serve on and attend college committees as assigned and participate in campus commencement exercise(s) as required.
- Participate in his/her own performance appraisal and may work with student clubs and/or organizations.
- Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills to support and enhance effective interaction between Districts and other organizations, businesses, and community groups as well as faculty, staff, and students.
- Promote the college in the community by participating in a variety of marketing activities.
- Participate in professional development activities and complete required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Art, Fine Arts, Arts and Technology, Visual Arts and Design, Computer Graphic Design, or computer-related field, or Associate degree in Art, Fine Arts, Arts and Technology, Visual Arts and Design, Computer Graphic Design, or computer-related field and three years of non-teaching work-related experience.
- Bilingual or multi-language skills preferred.
May be required to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
