Pay Grade/Salary Range: 105 - $31, $47,267.14
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:This position involves a combination of clerical and technical responsibilities aimed at supporting the Engineering and Traffic Operations of the County. The role includes managing public inquiries, processing work orders, and ensuring efficient administrative operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:The following outlines the primary duties associated with this role, though additional tasks may be assigned as necessary:
- Manage all incoming communications, including walk-ins and phone calls directed to the Engineering and Traffic Operations Departments.
- Perform standard clerical tasks such as typing, filing, and operating office machinery.
- Handle the distribution of all incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Maintain an adequate supply of office materials and ensure their availability.
- Engage with the public regarding various permits and manage financial transactions for Engineering Services.
- Prepare daily financial deposits and maintain tracking documentation.
- Process paperwork related to the Vacation of Easements and Rights of Way.
- Verify addresses for public and private entities, providing clerical assistance to the GIS/Addressing Department.
- Uphold a professional and safe work environment in accordance with established safety standards.
- Adhere to Board policies and procedures consistently.
- Adapt to changes in the work environment and perform other related tasks as required.
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Proficiency in operating standard office equipment and software.
- Ability to utilize word processing and spreadsheet applications effectively.
- Capacity to acquire technical knowledge relevant to Public Works projects for citizen inquiries.
- Competence in managing interruptions while maintaining productivity.
- Strong communication skills for effective business correspondence.
- Sound judgment and the ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to foster positive working relationships with colleagues and the public.
The individual in this role must:
- Be able to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Occasionally reach for files and materials located at various heights.
- Communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Operate various office equipment, including computers and copiers.
- Occasionally navigate stairs and handle light materials.
Three years of clerical experience in a computerized environment is preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:A valid Florida Driver License is required, along with the ability to become a Notary Public within six months of hire.
OTHER JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS:This position is designated as Disaster Essential.
