About the Role

This position is primarily responsible for assisting dentists during patient examinations and treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review patient schedules and charts to ensure readiness for treatment.
  • Prepare operatories for the day, including setting up sterilization and ensuring rooms are ready for treatment.
  • Obtain and record patient medical and dental histories, as well as vital signs, and communicate this information to the dentist.
  • Assist with dental radiographs and cone beam scans, reporting findings to the dentist.
  • Provide exceptional patient experience through communication, education, and treatment expectations.
  • Assist with medical and dental emergencies, and provide post-operative instructions as prescribed by the dentist.
  • Maintain accurate clinical notes for patients, documenting pertinent information in patient charts.
  • Generate consult and post-operative reports for referring dentists.
  • Collaborate with front and back office staff to ensure smooth and efficient dentist schedules, and communicate treatment plans with the Front Desk team.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and procedures.
  • Maintain dental supplies inventory, checking stock levels and anticipating needed supplies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assist with daily office cleaning responsibilities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Dental Assistant experience.
  • Knowledge of dental practice and procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental radiographs and software programs.
