Library Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Library Page at the King County Library System. As a Library Page, you will play a vital role in maintaining the organization and accessibility of our library materials.

The Library Page position is responsible for shelving and maintaining the order of library materials, as well as assisting with opening, maintaining, and closing libraries. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. • Shelves and maintains order of library materials
• Assists with opening, maintaining, and closing libraries
• Provides minimal directional assistance to patrons
• Assists with program setup and takedown
• Assists with displays and assigned projects and programs

• Ability to read English and sort in alphanumeric order
• Ability to learn the Dewey Decimal System
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent customer service skills

The Library Page position is a part-time, 12-hour per week role that requires working varied hours, including weekends and evenings. The work environment is primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks. The successful candidate will be required to lift up to 35 pounds and push/pull carts using moderate force.
