Job Title: Class A CDL Delivery Driver

At Performance Foodservice, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class A CDL Delivery Driver to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for delivering food and food-related products to our customers in a safe and timely manner.

Job Summary:

The Class A CDL Delivery Driver will be responsible for driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, delivering and/or unloading food and food-related products to customers. This role requires excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner.
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally.
  • Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections, and report any safety issues or repairs required.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Unload products from the trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and verify delivery of items with customers.
  • Collect money (cash or checks) where required, and load customer returns onto the trailer.
  • Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured.
Requirements:
  • 12+ months commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL A.
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Foodservice delivery experience.
  • Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e. PeopleNet).
  • Hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience (i.e. POD).
  • Customer service related work experience.
