We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team at Little Rock School District. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the instructional program and providing a nurturing environment for our students.
Responsibilities:
• Guide children in working and playing harmoniously with each other.
• Interact positively with children and provide a nurturing environment for students.
• Assist in the preparation of lesson and instructional materials and learn the curriculum content.
• Promote oral language development through meaningful conversations with students.
• Assist individual children in need of special attention and implement appropriate and positive behavior management techniques.
• Reinforce research-based instructional activities with students as directed and participate in daily outdoor play including interactions and guiding student learning.
• Maintain compliance with regulations for DHS and ABC and model a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
Requirements:
• High school diploma with at least 60 college hours or Associate Degree or have passed the ParaPro Praxis Exam.
• Current Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate, Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Development (or similar area focused on early childhood), or Bachelor's degree.
• Ability to access and respond to emails on a regular basis, read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and/or memos and respond accordingly.
• Must be kind, nurturing, and responsive to children and work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and other adults.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information.
