Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Staff Engineer, Product Software to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will work on Hybrid Multi-Cloud Networking open-source software and cultivate Equinix's open-source presence in the industry.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a globally distributed development team on Hybrid Multi-cloud Networking open-source software
  • Cultivate Equinix's open-source presence and reputation in open-source organizations and standards bodies
  • Provide a level of effort (LOE) for the product backlog and work with technical project managers and product management teams to define a schedule
  • Assist in the analysis and evaluation of new technologies to meet the demand for product roadmap and technology platform goals
  • Help in the evaluation and recommendation of appropriate technologies for product features and platform
  • Advocate and follow best design and development practices adhering to Engineering standards
  • Prioritize and parallelize tasks and deal with ad-hoc requests
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and building highly redundant network infrastructure for campus networks with an emphasis on IPv4 and IPv6, IP Routing, RIB/FIB, BGP and PBR, IP and BGP routing to CSPs, Zero Trust, SDN and Cloud Networking
  • 5+ years of experience applying network and security principles within a cloud infrastructure deployment, with a strong track record of delivering resilient network systems and services
  • A deep understanding of OSI Layer and its application
  • Strong hands-on technical skills, with familiarity with APIs and designing solutions to leverage interfaces to build network automation or capabilities
  • Comfortable programming in languages such as Go, Python, C/C++, Rust
  • DevOps mindset to improve CICD using GitHub Actions and review DORA metrics to improve processes
