We are seeking a highly skilled Sterilization Specialist to join our team at Penn Dental Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, decontaminating, and disinfecting instruments, as well as ensuring sterilization protocols are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities- Instrument Preparation: Prepare, decontaminate, and disinfect instruments, set up and instrument sterilization equipment.
- Sterilization Protocols: Ensure sterilization protocols are adhered to as per manufacturer and policy.
- Supply Management: Distribute and collect instrument supplies and laboratory equipment utilizing scanning equipment. Provide customer service and patient care support in dispensing areas of assigned dental clinics.
- Equipment Management: Deliver and inventory equipment distributed to and received from clinics.
- Waste Management: Ensure appropriate sterilization of glassware and specified waste of the research facilities.
- Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Education: Associate's Degree or two year college equivalent.
- Experience: 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills: Dental or medical background helpful but not required. Must be able to push or pull up to 150 lbs. and lift up to 100 lbs. Must be able to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
May be required to work occasional weekends and/or overtime as needed for preparation of student licensing exams. Candidate must be available to work a scheduled shift of 11:30AM - 8:30PM, Monday through Friday.
