The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for our members, promoting member wellness and engagement, and adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the safety of members and staff by maintaining a vigilant and proactive approach to pool operations.
- Perform all skills required for certifications, including CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration.
- Communicate effectively with the public and staff to provide excellent customer service.
- Attend weekly staff in-service trainings to stay up-to-date on YMCA policies and procedures.
- Find substitutes when needed and report substitution(s) to the Aquatics Coordinator/Director.
- Maintain equipment and keep the pool area clean and organized.
- Build positive relationships with members and promote a welcoming environment.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Hold current certifications in YMCA or ARC Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (ASHI or ARC), First Aid (ASHI or ARC), and Oxygen Administration (ASHI or ARC).
- Demonstrate strong swimming ability.
- A competitive hourly rate of $15.00 to $19.00.
- A free family membership to the YMCA of Central Texas.
- A $250 bonus for new staff.
