Position Overview: Culinary Service Associate

As a Culinary Service Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of food services within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a valid ServSafe food handlers certification.
  • Efficiently load and transport tray delivery carts to designated areas.
  • Deliver and retrieve patient trays, ensuring food acceptance and gathering feedback.
  • Set up and restock food items, condiments, and utensils on the tray assembly line.
  • Adhere to printed menus and dietary guidelines to serve the correct food items.
  • Prepare and serve beverages as needed, including coffee and tea.
  • Assist in the movement of tray carts and their placement onto the Automated Transport System (ATS).
  • Transport tray delivery carts to patient care units and manage the return of soiled dishes.
  • Prepare sandwiches and packed meals for various dietary needs.
  • Assist in the transfer of food from storage to assembly lines.
  • Portion food accurately to ensure standardized servings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the work area using appropriate cleaning agents.
  • Manage waste disposal and assist in dishwashing operations.
  • Deliver supplies from storage areas to work units as required.
  • Unload and organize supplies from delivery trucks.
  • Store clean dishes and utensils properly.
  • Wash kitchenware as needed, ensuring proper storage.

Cleaning and Sanitation Duties:

Perform essential cleaning tasks, including:

  • Sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Cleaning food production and service equipment.
  • Disposing of waste responsibly.
  • Maintaining hygiene standards in all food handling processes.

Food Handling and Service:
  • Observe proper techniques when handling food and trays.
  • Assemble and deliver individual and bulk food items.
  • Set up serving stations with necessary supplies.
  • Assemble and serve trays based on dietary requirements.
  • Ensure portion control and use appropriate serving utensils.
  • Prepare fruits and vegetables for various culinary applications.
  • Craft a variety of salads and desserts with attention to presentation.
