Critical Care Nurse Specialist for Neuro and Surgical ICU

Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team in the Neuro and Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated nurse to provide exceptional patient care and make a meaningful difference in the lives of critically ill patients.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a compassionate and experienced Critical Care Nurse to work in a fast-paced environment, providing direct patient care to critically ill adult patients. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred
- Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license
- Obtain and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills
- Possess knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement
The estimated salary for this position is $34.65 - $35.69 per hour. Albany Medical Center offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and education assistance.
